What song should be illegal to play at a salsa social?
Hard to answer. What I like is maybe not what others like. This can be applied to many things. The most important thing for a DJ is to cause as many smiles as possible because we can’t satisfy everybody. We need to analyse the dance floor and play the best music depending on the dancers and the moment of the party. For me there are no “illegal” songs. Illegal is playing music without paying for it. We need to respect the artists.

Aguanile for sure. Practically most songs above 105/210 bpm and any over 110/220. And there is also the box with “salsa” songs such as La Vida Es Un Carnaval.

There is pretty much nothing I can’t dance without except my own body. Nice music, good dance partner, quality dance floor and positive vibes and my preferable dance shoes and clothes are all just a bonus and all these things make the experience unique.
